Vos Estis Lux Mundi
ISSUED MOTU PROPRIO
BY THE SUPREME PONTIFF
Vos estis lux mundi (‘You are the light of the world’) is a motu proprio by Pope Francis, promulgated on 9 May 2019. It establishes new procedural norms to combat sexual abuse and ensure that clergy and religious are held accountable for their actions. It applies to the whole church or is universal in nature. The law is effective for a three-year experimental period (ad experimentum), beginning 1 June 2019.
If you wish to report any case of abuse occurring within the dioceses of Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei, you may write in to the respective diocese Professional Standards Office (PSO) found in the directory. If you are unable to contact the office or have no response, you may check with the respective bishops’ secretary for the contact details.
