PLENARY MEETINGS

4th Decade

The Plenary meeting is held two times a year in any place decided upon by the Conference. The President shall call an extraordinary meeting when an urgent need arises. The Apostolic Nuncio/Delegate may be invited to meet and address the members at the Plenary Meeting.

4th Decade

This decade saw the erection of the Diocese of Keningau, with territory taken from the Diocese of Kota Kinabalu, making it a suffragan see of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kuching. Newly ordained Bishop Cornelius Piong joined as members of the Conference. In 1995, Rev Fr. Murphy Pakiam was ordained as Auxiliary Bishop of Kuala Lumpur. In 1997, the territory of the Vicariate of Brunei was designated as an Apostolic Prefecture headed by Monsignor Cornelius Sim. In 1998, Rev. Fr. John Ha was ordained as Auxiliary Bishop of Kuching.
