PLENARY MEETINGS
1st Decade
The Plenary meeting is held two times a year in any place decided upon by the Conference. The President shall call an extraordinary meeting when an urgent need arises. The Apostolic Nuncio/Delegate may be invited to meet and address the members at the Plenary Meeting.
1st Decade
The conference was renamed from Bishops’ Conference of Malacca-Singapore to Bishops’ Conference of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, and to place the conference under the Apostolic Delegation of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.
The first decade efforts were mainly in the development of the seminaries, seminary training, the development of catechists and catechetical commissions.
Bishop members during this decade were:
Archbishop Michel Olcomendy, Bishop Dominic Vendargon, Bishop Francis Chan, Bishop Jan Vos, Bishop James Buis, Bishop Charles Reiterer, Bishop Gregory Yong, Bishop Carlo Van Melckebeke and Bishop Anthony Galvin.
The Apostolic Delegate during this decade was:
